One of the last things needed to complete our master bedroom is a pair of chairs for the foot of the bed.
Those of you that follow me on Instagram have probably figured out that I have an obsession with chairs.
I’m pretty sure it’s my life’s destiny to have only chairs in our house but the Mr wouldn’t be too happy so, for now, I just keep sneaking new ones in as often as I can.
I fell in love with a pair of custom-made English-roll-arm chairs at an estate sale last year & was lucky enough to find them still there during the 50% day.
Assuming the chair gods had gifted me the perfect answer to our bedroom chair problem I happily scooped bought them right away!
It was only once we got them home that it became obvious they were much too deep for the foot of our bed. Since they are the most comfortable and highest quality chairs we own, they now have a new home flanking the living room fireplace.
It’s always important that I have a plan B in mind during impulse buys and so the Mr. doesn’t know it wasn’t a well thought out purchase.
Do any of you do this as well?
The problem was the coral checkered upholstery didn’t suit my style or the feel of our living room.
Ballard Design came to the rescue with the ‘Rebecca Chair’ slip covers in white bull denim, which fit almost perfectly and they perfectly suit the rest of our slip covered furniture!
So the search for bedroom chairs continues….
These chairs won’t be used for more than the occasional afternoon nap or curling up with a book, so they don’t need to be the highest quality chairs but they do need to be stylish.
Wayfair has some beautiful chairs that I’ve been looking at for a while. So I decided the best way to chose was to get your opinions!
‘Chrisanna Wingback Chair‘- I like the mix of modern lines & soft fabric with nail head trim. It looks wide enough to curl up in and be comfortable, yet the back is straight enough that it won’t take up too much of the room.
‘Celestin Flour Upholstered Armchair‘- Similar to #1 but seems has a wider and slightly more rounded which I think would blend well with the coziness of a bedroom.
‘Jewel Club Chair‘- Something about the slimline look of this with the sloping arms appeals to me, it seems to imply romance and casual seating all at once. It’s also the cheapest of the 3 options so far!
‘Gazon Accent Wingback Chair‘ – Or I could go with something almost purely decorative like this! I love the look of the raw distressed wood mixed with linen type upholstery. It’s truly beautiful and would look right at home in our master bedroom.
The last 2 options would keep things simple with minimal distraction from the rest of the room using slipper chairs.
They wouldn’t be comfortable for any extended seating and I tend to feel out-of-place in chairs without arm rests but they are beautiful and classic.
What do you think?
‘Bottrell Tufted Side Chair‘- I love the button tufting and sloping back of this chair.
‘Hobson Showood Accent Slipper Chair‘- This one is more modern clean lines and leg design. The fabric is beautiful and the seat is wider than the previous slipper chair.
This is the chair that I would pick if it wasn’t too big..
‘Lavelle Wingback Chair‘- I LOVE the faded pattern on this chair as it blends in perfectly with our master bedroom colors. The style is casual and again with the shorter rolled arms & wing back!
Do you think the Mr. would agree to just make the bedroom 3ft longer so I can get this one?
